Cheerio Peeps!

I'm off to London in a little bit. I'm finally starting to get excited, I still was in the mindset that I had to go to work this morning so it hasn't really snapped that I'm flying out shortly.

I've had a busy week. I worked late a few times and went out with my department on Thursday night. With two co-workers in tow, we then met Heather and co. at The Irish Rogue. Liz had gotten a tip that the dad from The Wonder Years was downstairs and we flew down the steps. To our disappointment he wasn't there (boo.) I later learned a new equation:

2 strawberry martinis + 2 and 1/2 cosmos - dinner = falling asleep on the QM1A and waking up with the bus driver yelling at you and having to walk home from Lakeville Road at 1:30 am on a Thursday.
lihuh
My neighborhood is ridiculously quiet and therefore seriously creepy at night, not good when you've been drinking. I almost vommed on the bus the next morning (typical there was Union Turnpike construction, my iPod was broken, and I couldn't bring myself to read, all I could do was stare at the traffic and contemplate hopping off the bus.)

I had Gail's bridal shower on Saturday (no photos because they all came out too dark.) I was really nervous since I hadn't been in a bridal party before but everything turned out well, esp. the scrapbook which looked great (hint hint friends please do one for me when I get married? Thanks!) At night Liz and I stopped for a drink at Barramundi on Clinton where they offer a beer, knish, and a pickle for $8. We went to The Delancey for Meghan's birthday but were banned from the roof garden (well, we weren't paying $10 for is it is actually what I mean.) Good assortment of music and the last song we danced to before leaving was 'Poison' which was ridiculously appropriate as it was Liz's last Saturday night out in NYC.

Jared, Jenny, and the Birthday Girl

Everyone wore dresses and looked super pretty but no one had given me the memo :(

I Hadn't Seen Jared in Like 15 Months or Somezing, Yeah!!

I ran tons of errands yesterday (and got $15 jeans at Express!!) Erica, Heather, Liz, and I went for a final foursome dinner at a hibachi place on Queens Boulevard. I heart ginger dressing.

I'm glad to report that my boyfriend went to Pamplona to run with the bulls for a bachelor party and he has returned without a horn stuck in his ass or any other injuries. I may blog from LDN if I've got free time during the days, otherwise I'll be back on 31/7 (have to get used to writing like that again.) Ooh, and I won't have to tip bartenders when I'm there, YESH!!!!!

Harry and Cho Sitting In A Tree

I've been slacking on updates. Mainly because a) I'm lazy, b) my entire right arm/shoulder has been killing me from potential carpal tunnel syndrome, and c) I'm lazy.

On Friday night I went to dinner with Julie, Robyn, and Sherri at this Mediterranean place called Bopyagabubdiglu or something like that on the Upper East Side. We got a bunch of appetizers to share, it was yum and cheap! We then headed over to Mo's Caribbean where we joined Liz and Heather (wasted) and I drank a frozen strawberry margarita (I had been in withdrawal.) Julie played her first ever game of beer pong, she did really well. We also got propositioned with a bet by the two guys we were playing with: If we win, you make out with us, if you win we make out with you. So clever and original! Then we snuck up Sherri by taking photos of her while she was running with her back to us on her treadmill in her building. It was so funny I almost peed on myself, although I feel a bit bad now. Actually no, it's still funny!

Saturday was a total bust. Julie came over, and then Heather came to mine with Liz in tow and we were all planning on going to the beach. That was until Heather's car died. Julie left and the three of us went to the gas station which was great fun. We ended up getting Chinese food and just laying out in my backyard. I took an annoying kickboxing class at the gym, then went with Erica to meet Liz and Heather at Miss B.'s apt. Quiet evening all in all.

Last night was super duper awesome.
Ryan took me to see a free preview of this:
I really liked it. The effects were amazing, particularly the scene with Fred and George, I think it stole the movie even though it wasn't super significant. Also might I add that Ron is looking fine as always and Harry is definitely hot now!!

Best scene of the movie was this:
Also, is this the book where Ron is making out with his girlfriend in the common room all the time? They left that whole part out! That's my only ugh about the movie.

Anyways, I just finished reading this:It was great.

I'm now reading this...

I don't know shit about the bible, but as long as it's told in soap opera format I'm all for religion.

Maybe We'll See on the Fourth of July

My 4th of July was totally lame. I couldn't be bothered to leave my house except to go to the gym; when the rain started coming down I knew the city was definitely not an option. Liz came over and my dad BBQ'd, it was yum. I guess I'm a bit sad I didn't see any fireworks in person but at my ripe old age of 27, laziness trumps pretty debris shooting through the sky.

I went to the midtown on bar crawl on Tuesday. Everyone was drunk when I got there and it was just plain boring. Kate Kearney's is closing permanently on Saturday so they were getting rid of all of their alcohol. This basically meant that all the beer they had was of piss-like quality (and I'm not talking about Coors Light or Bud Light.) Also the toilets were flooded. Heather and I braved the men's room and the smell was sickening (probably normal for a men's bathroom but I had to hold my breath to stop from gagging.) I keep telling myself I won't go back to the next bar crawl but I always do. I feel like I'm missing out if I don't go, but this time I'm serious!!

I forgot to mention that we went back to the pool for Heather's birthday. Here's a photo:

Pure Shore (You Got Got)

I've returned from the Jersey shore in one piece, hoorah!

I laughed, I cried, I got burnt on my right side.
I successfully avoided Belmar (YES!) but that meant we went to Jenks twice (BOO!)
Jon and Kirk had a "Body-Off" competition by the pool. This was not thrilling for the ladies in any way, shape, or form.
Liz and I were relegated to the pull out couch for the first night and had an added bonus of Erica and potato chip crumbs the second night.
I closed my aluminum takeaway container in between the car trunk and the back window so it was stuck sticking straight up. At least the sun heated up my leftover cocunut shrimp and I didn't need to use the microwave. (This was actually really funny if you can picture it - so funny that I stood there laughing and crying at it for 5 minutes by myself in the parking lot.)
Memorable quotes include...
Arthur (in all seriousness): Charles Darwin went to Bronx Science?!
Spector Rapping: I'm gonna spread your legs and fertilize your eggs.
Enjoy (or don't enjoy) the photos.
